Forest School &
Outdoor Learning Sessions
We run Forest School and Outdoor Learning Sessions for schools and groups. A popular option is that we come in and run sessions for your school and train your staff in either Forest School or Outdoor Learning, so they have the benefit of expert advice and experience in the early days of setting up learning outdoors. Please email us for details.
INSET DAYS
INSET days can be arranged at your request. Typically an INSET day will last 4-5 hours for up to 15 staff and can include Forest School or Outdoor Learning introductory sessions so that all staff are familiar with the concept and have fun while raising their confidence in transferring their experience and skills into outdoor learning sessions. Using Forest School to empower your curriculum will also be covered. I can also advise you on how your site can be effectively used for outdoor learning or Forest School and give you some ideas and practice for activities to start you off!
If you are within 30 miles of Highworth, shorter INSET days can be arranged which fit in with staffing and quiet times in your setting. For example, some pre-schools have arranged a number of 3 hour sessions on a friday afternoon when staff are available.
Once familiar with outdoor learning in your setting, many schools choose to select influential and enthusiastic staff to complete the Outdoor Co-ordinator Qualification enabling them to set up a strategy for outdoor learning across the whole school, and manage staff who have completed the Outdoor Practitioner Course. We offer outdoor learning idea days which are open to Forest School and Outdoor Learning staff who want to refresh their skills or update their ideas for activities.
Our courses are modular, so you can build up qualifications in Outdoor Learning which count towards your Forest Schools Qualification, so the time and money you have invested goes further.
