Forest School Location
We offer nationally accredited outstanding training courses, RQF Forest School Leader Levels 1-3, with rave reviews, at the beautiful Ashdown House National Trust Forest (RG17 8RE). We are on the Berkshire / Oxfordshire / Wiltshire border, 15 mins drive from the M4, accessible by train /bus & bicycle. Practical elements of the course take place under Ygrdsill, the ancient ash tree in the woods, under the cover of our parachute and warmed by the campfire. The classroom sessions are held in the comfortable old stable yard conference rooms.
Outdoor Learning Courses Location
These courses are run at Highworth Community Centre SN6 7PE a former school with an outstanding outdoor learning area of meadow, orchard and woodland area. We chose this site because most of our practitioners will be running their sessions on a similar school site, and we can demonstrate to you how all the ideas and activities work on a typical school site with tarmac area, playground and outdoor learning area.
Our Standards for Forest School & Outdoor Learning
We partner with a member of the Forest School Association and UK Forest School Trainers Network member, Cambium Sustainable, in order to ensure our courses are always up to date with UK best practice and that they are nationally standardised. This provides for you:
- UK Forest School Association and OCN approved quality of content.
- Modular courses which accredit your prior work towards Outdoor Learning & Forest School Qualifications. For you this means value for the training investment of your time and money that you put into each level of qualification.
- Local & centralised on-call support while you are completing your training and portfolio.
- Small courses (16 people max) with two experienced trainers who are current Forest School practitioners and not just training deliverers.
- Follow up sessions / consultations in your own settings and help with finding your own settings if you need it. You attend the training days, practical skills, portfolio working days, and and entitled to attend free campfire skill share evenings.
- A supportive learning environment where learners finish their full qualifications, rather than a remote training organisation.
